Established MAb Description
The ABCF can provide MAbs from established hybridomas for RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY as:

Bioreactor Supernatants:
  • MAb concentrations range from 0.5 to 4.0 mg/ml (average ~ 1 mg/ml)
  • Purity ranges from 20 to 80%
  • Available aliquot size = usually 10 mg, sometimes less
  • Hybridoma-SFM (Invitrogen)
  • 0.5% fetal bovine serum (prescreened for ultra low bovine Ig levels)
  • Cell debris (from the hybridoma)
  • Sterile
  • NO sodium azide is added

Purified MAbs:
  • MAb concentrations range from 1.0 to 10.0 mg/ml (average ~ 3 mg/ml)
  • Purity = 95% or better
  • Available Aliquot size = usually 1 mg, sometimes more
  • Buffer = PBS
  • Sterile filtered
  • NO sodium azide is added

Bioreactor supernatants can be used in most assays (i.e., western blots, immunoprecipitations, FACS analysis, in vivo depletion, etc.). The only time you may want to avoid using them is when cellular debris and/or factors secreted by the hybridoma would interfere with your assay (i.e., gel shifts and growth assays) or when the MAb needs to be manipulated biochemically (i.e., conjugation to a flourophore or column).

All MAbs have scored negative in a mycoplasma screen and several have been screened for mouse pathogens.
